State-of-the-art training center at Four
Oaks is
newest gem for Johnston
Community College
Here are scenes from last
Friday's official opening....

JCC President Vern Lindquist welcomes
dignitaries assembled in the new center's
concourse for the ribbon-cutting. The big blue
"jaguar" on the wall in the background is the
mascot for JCC's interscholastic sports.
"As impressive as this building is, it is the
result of even more impressive vision of our
local leaders," Dr. Lindquist told the
gathering. "Johnston County's ability to forge
public-private partnerships is unmatched."
|

Following the ceremony, visitors were allowed
to roam throughout the building and speak with
instructors about equipment being used to
train students for "advanced manufacturing."
BELOW: Students were already at work in
classes inside the new facility.

AN HISTORICAL POSTSCRIPT
Four Oaks provided the first home for Johnston
Community College when it opened on the former
